SAM LÊ SHAVE IS A 25 YEAR OLD VIETNAMESE-AMERICAN CREATIVE BORN & RAISED IN DORCHESTER. THEY ARE A INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST WHO WORKS WITHIN VARIOUS MEDIUMS FROM PAINTING, TEXTILES (EMBROIDERY, SEWING, WEAVING, AND CROCHET), AND MANY MORE. THEY USE WRITING, FABRIC, THREAD, YARN, AND SOMETIMES OTHER MIXED MEDIA. SAM IS BEST KNOWN FOR STORYTELLING THROUGH BOLD, COLORFUL PATTERNS OR MOTIFS, PORTRAITS, AND OBSCURED TEXT. THEIR CREATIVE INFLUENCES ARE INFORMED THROUGH THEIR VIETNAMESE-AMERICAN IDENTITY, FAMILY, COMMUNITY, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZING EXPERIENCE. THEIR WORKS ARE INTUITIVE AND PROCESS-LED AND ARE USED TO CHANNEL AND PROMOTE HEALING AND RESTORATIVE PRACTICES AND THOUGHTS TO MYSELF, THE PEOPLE I COLLABORATE WITH, AND THE VIEWER.
